ANALYZING WHAT FUTURE FRED HAS AT MANCHESTER UNITED

Manchester United are currently on a mission to strengthen their squad and with two top senior signings in Jadon Sancho and Raphael Varane already this summer, they’ve shown that they really do mean business. Although it does not look certain that they will be signing any more players this window, there are rumors that they could be adding at least a midfielder to wrap up their summer transfer business. Signing a midfielder would further make United a team to beat this season but it may have complications on their squad, especially given that they already have some players clamoring for more game time even without the addition of any new midfielder yet.

Brazilian midfielder Fred is one of those players whose place in the team is not really guaranteed because he switches with Scott McTominay for a starting role since Bruno Fernandes and Paul Pogba are already guaranteed starters. Another player who is going to be affected if United sign another midfielder is Fred’s compatriot and fellow Brazilian Andreas Pereira. The midfielder recently returned from a loan spell after spending last season on loan with Italian Serie A outfit Lazio where he made some big impression and a statement to be playing more games for his club.

Fred and Pereira are both decent players but while the former has a better chance of playing for United, the latter has been tipped to leave the club as he can’t be guaranteed playing time under manager Olé Gunnar Solksjær.

Donny van de Beek is another player who has not enjoyed enough game time since signing for the club and bringing in another midfielder would hamper his chances of showing what he is made of as well. United would need to sell players before signing any more this summer.
