Tite Reveals Reservations about Becoming Brazil Boss

Brazil boss Tite says that he had second thoughts about becoming the new boss of the national team.

After successive disappointments at the World Cup 2014 and the Copa America 2016, the national team was looking at a third manager in less than two years. Both the previous managers, though, were known to the nation from their spell previously and the decision this time was to give a new man the chance. Former Corinthians manager Tite has been a name mentioned as a potential national team boss even when Scolari was appointed a couple of years ago.

His ability to beat European Champions Chelsea in the final of the Club World Cup in Japan was a major factor in the stock of the 55-year-old raising considerably. He was in charge of Corinthians in two spells and was more successful in the first. Still, the decision was taken to appoint the manager. Tite, though, had his reservations since he had seen two extremely successful national team bosses – Scolari and Dunga – fail to bring glory days back to Brazil. The current crop of Brazilian talent was far away from success it seemed. However, Tite has taken over and Brazil have had a strong start to the World Cup 2018 campaign with two wins from the opening matches. (more…)

Ronaldo believes that Neymar can inspire the Brazil team to victory at the Olympics

Brazil legend Ronaldo believes that Neymar can inspire Brazil to a first victory at the Olympics football tournament. Despite its success at World Cups, Brazil has never won the gold medal at Olympics football, and Ronaldo believes that they can make it this year.

The Olympics will be held this year in Brazil, and Ronaldo believes that this will be an advantage for the team. The media is already putting pressure on the team especially with the poor run of results that the team is having in the World Cup qualifying campaign.

However, Ronaldo believes that the quality, as well as the experience of Neymar, should lift the team and help them win the gold medal for the first time in their history. (more…)

The Brazilian football confederation has vowed to fight to get Neymar to participate in both the Copa America as well as the Olympics.

Barcelona has sent a letter to the Brazil confederation where they have recommended that Neymar should be given adequate rest during the summer ahead of the start of the new season. As a result, they are asking that Neymar participates in the Olympics and not in the Copa America.

Dunga, the current Brazil manager, has stated that Neymar is an important player for his team and that he will like to have him in both the Copa America team as well as the Olympics team.

However, Neymar has proposed a solution to this issue. He has offered not to play in the group phase of the Copa America and then play as from the quarter-finals. After that, he will be leaving for the Olympics. But with the current form of Brazil, it is very likely that he will have to be in the team as from day one in the Copa America if ever they want to qualify for the quarter-finals. (more…)
